WiFi problems with McAfee

We have observed a problem when using TournamentSR's WiFi feature on a computer running McAfee Livesafe.  By default, Livesafe prevents other devices from connecting to the TournamentSR computer.

To solve this problem, follow McAfee's instructions for turning off its Firewall.  Set the duration to "Until next reboot".  If you need to restart your computer and run TournamentSR, make sure to repeat the proceedure.

Re: WiFi problems with McAfee

We have recently seen more cases of McAfee Security Center preventing both WiFi brackets/scores and the ability to use our support programs (AnnouncerSR, RegistrationSR, MatchScorerSR, and TableWorkerSR).  If your TournamentSR computer has McAfee and doesn't want allow other computers to see brackets/scores or won't allow connections from other computers running our support programs, here is more information.

Allow brackets and team scores to be seen by other computers:
1) Open McAfee Security Center
2) Click on the settings icon (gear-like symbol near the top right of the window).  A drop down list will appear.
3) Click on the shield symbol to the right of "Firewall".  A Firewall settings window appears.
4) Scroll down in the list to reveal "Ports and System Services". Click on that entry.
5) Scroll down in the resulting list to reveal "Web Server (HTTP) Port 80".  Check the box to the left of that title.
6) Close the "Firewall" window and close the McAfee Security Center window.

Allow support programs to be used on other computers:
1) Open McAfee Security Center
2) Click on the settings icon (gear-like symbol near the top right of the window).  A drop down list will appear.
3) Click on the shield symbol to the right of "Firewall".  A Firewall settings window appears.
4) Scroll down in the list to reveal "Ports and System Services". Click on that entry.
5) Click the [Add] button. and fill out the fields as follows:
System Service Name: TournamentSR remote services
    System Service Category: Application
Service Description: Server connection for TournamentSR support programs
    Local TCP/IP Ports: 12644
    Local UPD Ports: (leave blank)
    Open ports to: All PCs
6) Click [Save]
7) Close the "Firewall" window and close the McAfee Security Center window.
