Inputting All Contestants Into Brackets

Would like to see if there is a way to add the option in the seeding to add all wrestlers with one click.
In our local tournaments we do not seed the wrestlers and have them placed by random draw.
The seeding option is an excellent option when we have used the software for our more important tourneys but with our local events we would like to add wrestlers to brackets instantly.

Re: Inputting All Contestants Into Brackets

I'm assuming your request is to add a feature that causes all wrestlers in all brackets to be placed into their ladders using one click.

The existing Seeding window allows adding all wrestlers for one bracket in one click.

The window that appears via the "View"/"Staging brackets..." menu provides a similar feature.  Checking the "Place contestants in the ladders" check box causes all of the brackets created from a "Staging" bracket to have the wrestlers automatically placed into their ladders.

Yes, we do not use the staging feature and have specified weight classes so if it is possible to have the wrestlers all inputted at once instead of having to go through each bracket it would help us out a lot.  Most of our tourneys are local events and do not merit a seeding process.

Re: Inputting All Contestants Into Brackets

We have decided this feature could be implemented as part of the sequence when [Start the Tournament] is pressed.  The program would detect wrestlers are not in their initial round matches and ask the user if it should attempt to move them.  If the user selects [Yes], the program would make one attempt to move everyone in.

We hope to have this ready by November.

Re: Inputting All Contestants Into Brackets

Today we released TournamentSR version 8.1.0.  When you click [Start the Tournament], the program checks to see if wrestlers need to be assigned to their initial round matches.  If so, it asks if you want them moved.  If you select [Yes], the program makes an attempt to move all of them.

If that succeeds, the program then asks you to confirm you want the tournament to start.  Clicking [No] allows more changes to be made.  Thus, you can do this any time before the tournament actually needs to start.

If the program cannot move all wrestlers into their first round matches (e.g. would cause a conflict with same team avoidance rules) or there are other issues detected, the problems are displayed as in previous versions.  You must manually fix such issues.
